Jack Petchey Foundation Award Scheme

Chelmsford Ice Hockey Academy is lucky to receive funding through The Jack Petchey Foundation via the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme. The scheme started in East London but now operates in all London Boroughs and Essex. Over £3 million pounds is allocated to the scheme every year.

Under the scheme, The Academy selects one member every month (between the ages of 11 and 25) for outstanding achievement in some aspect of their life and they receive a framed certificate and a £300 cheque (payable to The Academy). All winners attend an award ceremony each year and are then presented with a boxed achievement award medallion, usually by a local celebrity. In June this year, the awards were presented by Dean Birrell and Danny Wright of Chelmsford Chieftains fame.

The scheme not only provides useful additional funds but also allows The Academy to recognise the effort, endeavour and achievement of the members in a practical and positive way.
